Winter Hydration

By Ellen Copeland

The chill of winter has firmly settled in, with many of us already in the routine of warm layers, hearty meals and prioritising comfort. But one essential element of our wellbeing often slips under the radar in the cooler months: hydration.

While we may not feel as thirsty in winter, our bodies still rely on adequate fluid intake to function optimally. Indoor heating, reduced water consumption and dryer environmental conditions can all contribute to a subtle dehydration, impacting everything from skin and circulation to energy levels and digestion.

So how do we stay hydrated, and how do we do so in a way that feels nourishing and aligned with the season? One of our favourite ways is through herbal tea.

The power of herbal tea in winter

Herbal teas offer more than just warmth; they are a gentle, caffeine-free way to support hydration, and our range from MAYDE TEA boast additional benefits as well. Crafted by Byron Bay based naturopath and nutritionist, Kate Dalton, MAYDE Tea’s Tea’s blends are thoughtfully formulated to support the body’s natural rhythms. Each ingredient is selected not only for its flavour profile but for its functional role in promoting health and vitality. In winter, when our systems crave grounding and support, these blends become more than just a beverage—they become a ritual.

Here are two of our favourite blends to help you stay hydrated and well this season:

Digest – soothe and support your gut

Winter meals tend to be richer and more indulgent, which can leave the digestive system feeling sluggish. Digest is a refreshing, aromatic blend designed to cleanse the palate and soothe the entire digestive tract. Whether you’ve overindulged or simply want to support gut healing, this tea is a beautiful post-meal companion.

What’s inside:

  • Peppermint to calm the digestive tract and reduce bloating

  • Fennel to ease gas and support nutrient absorption

  • Calendula for its anti-inflammatory, gut-healing properties

  • Licorice to soothe the stomach lining and add a subtle sweetness

Perfect for sipping any time, particularly lovely after meals to encourage gentle digestion and restore balance.

Serenity – calm the mind and soothe the senses

Serenity is a stunning floral blend of grounding herbs that support both the nervous and digestive systems. Slightly sweet and deeply calming, it’s ideal for quiet moments throughout the day or as part of your evening wind-down ritual.

What’s inside:

  • Chamomile to ease tension and promote relaxation

  • Rose for its gentle mood-lifting and heart-opening qualities

  • Passionflower to calm the nervous system and support restful sleep

  • Lavender to soothe anxiety and enhance emotional balance

Enjoy Serenity when you need to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with calm.

A simple ritual for seasonal wellness

Hydration doesn’t have to mean forcing down cold glasses of water. With the right herbal blends, it becomes a soothing ritual. One that supports your body, calms your mind, and aligns with your wellness goals.

At Trinity Curated Wellness, we believe in wellness that’s sustainable, realistic, and rooted in nature. MAYDE Tea’s naturopathic blends are a beautiful extension of that philosophy, offering hydration with purpose and pleasure. Next time you visit, ask us about our favourite ways to brew these blends—or better yet, take a moment to enjoy a cup with us.

Stay warm, stay well, and stay hydrated.
