Why employee wellbeing is no longer a perk — it’s essential.

And what the latest research says about how your team is really doing.

Recently, I was chatting with a People & Culture Manager who said something that’s really stayed with me.

“We’re losing great people. Not because they don’t like the work — but because they’re exhausted.”

Sadly, they’re not alone.

Sonder’s latest report on workplace wellbeing paints a pretty stark picture of how employees across Australia and New Zealand are really feeling.

49% of employees say they’ve often or always felt exhaustion or burnout in the past year.
52% rate their mental wellbeing as average to very poor.
47% feel their workplace wellbeing support simply isn’t good enough.

That's half your team, right now, feeling depleted.

Why it matters (far beyond good intentions)

It’s easy to think of wellbeing initiatives as a ‘nice to have’. Something for when budgets allow. Or when things quieten down.

But here’s the thing: wellbeing isn’t a perk anymore. It’s business-critical.

Healthy Business research shows that when wellbeing is embedded into a workplace culture, the benefits are real — and measurable:

30% fewer voluntary resignations
3x fewer involuntary departures

In a tight talent market, those numbers speak volumes.

So, what does meaningful workplace wellbeing look like?

It’s not ping pong tables or Friday drinks. And it’s not a meditation app no one opens.

At Trinity Curated Wellness, we’ve seen the biggest impact comes from real, shared experiences.

Moments where teams can:

→ Step away from their screens
→ Move their bodies
→ Slow their breath
→ Connect — to themselves and each other

It doesn’t have to be elaborate. But it does have to be intentional.

That’s why we’ve created a range of Corporate Wellness experiences — from one-off sessions to full retreats to quarterly workshop series — designed to help teams pause, recharge and reconnect.

Because well teams stay. Well teams perform. And well teams thrive.

If you’re curious about creating a wellbeing experience for your team, I’d love to chat.
